saree authentic Indian

I wanted to shift my gear from technical space to something different, I was thinking today what should I gift my mom for her forthcoming birthday and that reminded me of saree. Saree is a cloth to wear that comes in different hue, pattern, dimensions. Saree is weaved in the weaving machines, olden days sarees used to be woven by hand until the machine took over from us. But even today people prefer traditionally hand woven sarees, as they are considered closer to heart :), I have no clue I am trying to see from a women's angle. Probably I should have asked few Indian ladies before writing this, anyways don't mind. But wait a minute i thought saree is purely Indian, nope there are other similar clothes wore by different nationalities.

A weaving machine:

There are hundreds and thousands of varieties of sarees based on the material, art of weaving, design, quality, length of saree and whole bunch of other stuff. Did you know that sarees are draped in different styles, this is very special because you cannot wear a dress in multiple ways, but with saree yes you can each part of India have their own style of draping. And washing sarees could be difficult because of the dimension of saree, see how a saree is dried after being washed.

To add my final scoop, I feel a women in saree is more beautiful.
